Published in the National Geographic Daily News, this article, “6 Women Scientists Who Were Snubbed Due to Sexism,” explores the Matilda Effect- a concept describing the repression or denial of the contributions of female researchers in science. The article highlights six female researchers who have significantly contributed to the field of science, from discovering the structure of DNA to participating in the development of the atom bomb. Many women throughout history have not gotten the credit they deserved for their work, and this article acknowledges these women and their substantial triumphs.
